Pillowell

The village of Pillowell is located in the stunning Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.  The Forest of Dean itself has a rich heritage of brass bands and many of them are still around today, varying from non-contesting bands right up to the Championship Section.  The village is near the town of Lydney and the band room is located at the very end of the village surrounded by woodland.  There are very few houses in Pillowell and no shops.  There is a local Primary School and Chapel where the Pillowell Singers meet each week.

Pillowell C.P. School

With the help of local musician Trevor Watkins, the band have maintained close contact with the school to ensure that youth is always being fed into the brass band movement.  Trevor takes lessons down the school weekly and steadily but surely new players have been joining our ranks.  Sophie Collier who came from Alan's junior band now plays 2nd cornet in the senior band and is making remarkable progress and Robyn (who also plays cornet) who is now becoming a more frequent figure within the band room.  The band would like to thank Trevor for teaching the students and Pillowell School for their continued support.  To visit the schools website please Click Here.

Pillowell Chapel

The Pillowell Chapel is located in upper Pillowell.  They host various activities throughout the week in which everyone is welcome to attend.  The Pillowell Ladies Choir meet weekly on a Wednesday evening.  Please feel free to go along (providing your a lady of course).  The Pillowell Silver Band hold their annual Christmas Concert at the chapel and are ever thankful to the chapel for their continued support.
