1. Not quite neat and tidy to open. I don't hear all the actual details - poor tuning is evident in the opening section. Bar 20 not together. Basses not comfortable at C. This is rather heavy for p. Poor tuning spoils the sustained note at D. Ad lib played in good style but generally the music lacks clarity. Bass drum rather loud for mf at E. Figure E gets a bit wild and unmusical. Bar 90 - forte unbalanced. F confident flugel and solo cornet. Horn chord not in tune. G Its all a bit too loud and lacking in detail. 2. Too many problems for comfort in the opening. Well done solo cornet and euph. Eb basses not in tune in their chords. There is poor tuning evident throughout this movement however a good build in made to bar 164. K flows well and better sounds and style indeed. L needs a little more thought to make it work. Bravo euph in ad lib and solo cornet too. The close needed to be warmer. 3. Rather ragged in the opening and I miss most detail. N is better sounds. O is effective. The fanfares lack clarity. P rather heavy especially percussion. R lacks good detail and poor balance and tuning is evident. S the music settles again. The close has good conviction but lacks good detail. A performance that really needed more attention to detail and tuning throughout. Thank you very much.
